Your leadership will directly shape the future of our industry—and inspire those around you to rise to new standards of excellence.

About the Role

You’ll be the driving force on the ground—leading 7–20 people, coordinating equipment and truck dispatch (4–8 pieces of equipment, 4–7 trucks), and ensuring safe, professional, and timely execution of all work plans.

This role is deeply collaborative and highly autonomous. You'll work closely with our CEO and Director of Operations and will act as a key point of contact for team members, clients, the public, and potential customers.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be onsite each morning, driving momentum, solving problems, and inspiring your crews.

• Lead daily operations: Plan, direct, and motivate field crews and operators to execute safe, high-quality work.

• Client & crew communication: Ensure everyone understands the mission, safety expectations, and production goals.

• Safety oversight: Act as Safety Officer; proactively manage safety risks and ensure all zones are secure.

• Logistics management: Oversee site setup, document control (timesheets, incidents, work logs), and equipment readiness.

• People leadership: Inspire, train, support, and coach crew members; address conflicts with professionalism and clarity.

• Lead and own daily equipment and fleet management, including assigning qualified operators, ensuring all machinery is well-maintained, functional, and ready for use, and securing/stowing equipment after daily inspections to maintain readiness and prevent loss or damage.

• Cross-functional coordination: Work with company leadership to meet safety, financial, and client satisfaction goals.

• Environmental readiness: Prepare crews for terrain, weather, and exposure to natural elements (traffic, steep slopes, overhead utilities, hazardous trees, poison oak, ticks, snakes, insects, fire/smoke, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications / Added Value

While not required, candidates with the following experience and attributes will bring added value to our team:

• Industry Expertise: Background in tree care, arboriculture, forestry, or wildland fuel reduction projects.

• Professional Certifications: Credentials from recognized bodies such as ISA (International Society of Arboriculture), TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association), or related forestry certifications.

• Commercial Driving License: Possession of a valid Class A or B CDL, enhancing operational flexibility.

• Client Relations: Strong public relations and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to maintain and strengthen client relationships.

• Business Development Mindset: Demonstrated ability to identify new project opportunities and contribute to business growth while managing on-site operations.

• Operational Efficiency: Proficiency in managing inventory, procuring supplies, and overseeing equipment maintenance.

• HR Familiarity: Understanding of California-specific human resources standards and practices.

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word for creating reports, documents, and operational tools.

• Digital Literacy: Comfortable with modern communication tools, project management platforms, and software systems.
